Facial yoga is a method that improves expression lines, strengthens the face and stimulates the tissues. It is a novel technique that improves the functioning of the facial muscles by applying hatha yoga to the face.
We have 57 muscles between the face and neck and these should be exercised just like the muscles of the body.
Over time our face undergoes changes and suffers a loss of density, expression wrinkles appear and the force of gravity acts on the tissues. This results in wrinkles between the eyebrows, around the mouth and eyes, etc… that is why facial yoga helps to prevent this type of problem.
Facial yoga experts recommend training daily for 3 weeks in order to create a habit so that you can integrate it into your skin care routine. Ideally you should train 2 or 3 times a week, about 10 minutes for the upper part of the face and 10 minutes for the lower part of the face, so be consistent and you will achieve great results! We are sure you will get a firmer and more toned face.
Facial yoga is a type of natural face lift that:
Breathing is very important in facial yoga, it should be done consciously, inhaling and exhaling through the nose because this helps relaxing the mind. To get results it is not necessary to press too hard, a light pressure is enough.
Remember that it is also important to drink water after each exercise to help eliminate toxins and to hydrate the skin.
Here are different exercises so that you can perform a complete facial yoga plan:
Neck area: Face forward, turn your head to the left until it is aligned with your left shoulder, then tilt your head back and hold for 8 seconds. Return to the starting position and do the same on the right side. Repeat 3 times.
Cheek and cheekbone area: Slowly fill the cheeks with air and move it side to side for 30 seconds. Also keep one hand on the lips to keep the lip area strong.
Jowls: Hold the head with one hand, push the chin down onto the fingers that support it and rest the elbow on the other hand. Take 3 deep breaths in this position and then gently tap the lower part of the chin. Alternate hands for 15 seconds.
Jaw and facial oval: With the index, middle finger and thumb gently pinch the jaw under the chin. After that press and release 3 times along the jaw towards the ears and then drag the thumbs from the chin towards the jaw line towards the ears. Three repetitions are recommended.
Lips: Consists of 2 parts. The first one is by tilting your head backwards and looking upwards making the kissing gesture, repeat 10 times making a sound. The second one is repeated 2 times and what you do is exhale as when you blow out a candle.
Forehead: The index finger and thumb are positioned in a “c” shape. The index fingers are placed on the eyebrow and the thumbs on the cheek, opening the eyes wide. Hold for 2 seconds, rest and repeat 3 times or more.
