Vitamin C fights skin aging caused by sun exposure, the so-called photo-aging because it neutralises the action of free radicals. This active ingredient also contributes to unify the tone of the skin and helps to eliminate spots on the face, as well as providing luminosity to the face in dull skins.
Vitamin C improves the appearance of wrinkles and provides firmness as it stimulates the synthesis of collagen in the skin.
This is often asked by many people and we have to say that within vitamin C there are many molecules and combinations that will not irritate your skin. However, you must bear in mind that if you apply it in the morning you must use photo protection or a cream with high SPF, and if you use it in your night routine you must do the same the next morning.
With regard to the quantity to be applied, it is very difficult to find products on the market that contain pure vitamin c because it is photosensitive and it oxidises in contact with light. Some formulas have between 15 and 20 percent but can be acidic and aggressive for some skins. Therefore, a concentration of 10 percent would be ideal because it offers an optimal balance of tolerability and effectiveness.
If you wish to include vitamin c in your daily facial routine, you can do so by using a facial serum, moisturiser or facial cleanser.
