Veganism is a lifestyle that goes beyond food, it extends to clothing, accessories, leisure activities and of course cosmetics. The vegan philosophy has a maximum respect to the animal world, is a way of understanding life that rejects any form of animal exploitation.
Vegan cosmetics are on the rise and at Mediterranean Spirit we offer a wide range of vegan cosmetic products. We want to make it clear that vegan cosmetics are not synonymous of organic cosmetics, organic cosmetics or bio cosmetics although we do use ingredients from ecological sources and certified organic ingredients.
Vegan cosmetics do not use ingredients such as gelatin, animal glycerin, fish or crustacean extract, cholesterol (pork, cow fat, etc…), oils from animals (whale, turtle, etc…), carmine (from crushed insects), lanolin (protective fat from sheep’s wool), guanine (extracted from fish scales, used in shampoos, eye shadows and lipsticks) or collagen. In addition to all these, milk (from cows, goats, donkeys, mares, etc.), eggs, beeswax, propolis or honey.
At Mediterranean Spirit most cosmetic products are vegan and we usually indicate this with a “V” accompanied by “Vegan product” at the end of the product description.
